WHAT IS A VARI-FOCAL LENS?

A Vari-focal is a lens that is designed to meet the most challenging jobs by giving the installer the flexibility to adjust between different focal lengths using only one lens. When the situation calls for an odd focal length lens or you are not sure of the correct focal length required for the installation, using a Vari-focal lens is the perfect choice. How many times have you or your installer set-up a job just to be called back because the customer was not satisfied with the field of view of the picture? More than once, most likely. A simple adjustment to the zoom and focus on a Vari-focal lens is all that is needed to rectify the situation on the spot: a less costly and time-consuming prospect than having to order and install a different monofocal lens altogether.

WHY USE A VARI-FOCAL LENS?

  • Surveillance effects are maximized since any desired angle of view can be obtained.
  • There is no need to carry several different focal length lenses to an installation job.
  • Once installed, even if the field of view requirements change, the system can be quickly adjusted by simply changing the focal length setting of the lens.

WHAT TAMRON HAS TO OFFER

Tamron's line of Standard, High-Resolution and Megapixel Vari-focal lenses is designed to meet the diversified needs of our customers. Our Vari-focal models range from the extremely wide field of view coverage of the 2.8-12mm/1.4 to the telephoto coverage on the 20-100mm/1.6 (on a 1/3" camera). Tamron Vari-focal lenses are available in three versions: Manual Iris, DC-controlled Iris, and Video-driven Iris. Tamron offers DC and Video controlled iris models for harsh lighting conditions, from wide-open to the minimum aperture of ƒ/360. The entirely new optical design delivers high contrast, high resolution images at any focal length and at any aperture setting, while reducing undesirable artifacts such as blooming or streaking. Smearless, crisp color rendition can be obtained for color camera applications.

The high optical and mechanical quality of our Mega Pixel lenses; 2.4-6mm F/1.2, 3-8mm F/1.0, 5-50mm F/1.4 (1/3" format) and 4-12mm F/1.4 (1/2" format) extracts maximum performance from mega pixel surveillance cameras. The innovative optical technologies employed assure high-contrast, high-resolution images that are uniformly sharp from center to the periphery. Corner resolution is almost twice that of conventional lenses. The highly-accurate and high-quality construction of each and every mechanical component maximizes performance of the entire optical system.

CHOOSE THE BEST
