I went around shooting random things to test it out.
I really like the sharpness after f/5.6. Bokeh is nice also.
This photo was taken with a 2.8 aperture to blur the background.
It came out pretty sharp wide open.

This was at 2.8 aperture ISO 100, a little soft since it was in the shadows but it gave it a bit of diffused effect which looks OK to me.
