This couple began their photographic career over 25 years ago, merging their talents, to open a successful portrait studio in the small town of Spartanburg , South Carolina. These creative, award winning, photographers know the intricacies of children's portraiture, in fact, photographing children are among their specialties. The Loys reputation exceeds well beyond their state, as part of Eastman Kodak's Pro Speaking Team, they lecture regularly around the country. You'll find Rita and Doug to be unpretentious and laid back. This, along with their non-technical and relaxed style of teaching make them a popular choice among the speakers of today. Rita, known for her outstanding, classic portraiture, spends the majority of her studio hours behind the camera and Doug, with an incredible talent in sales and customer relations, spends most of his time outside the camera room "taking care of business". Among their numerous awards, from their state and nationals, Rita has been named "Photographer of the Year" 8 times, has 7 Fuji awards, and 20 Kodak Gallery Awards. The Loys images have been published nationally in various books and magazines and Kodak has featured their work in several national ad campaigns. Doug serves as 2nd Vice President of the Southeastern Professional Photographers Association and both are past presidents of their state association. Rita and Doug were each recognized for their dedication, service, and contributions to the photographic industry with the once in a lifetime, National Award. |
