TAMRON LAUNCHES RE-DESIGNED WEBSITE

Features Improved Navigation and Extensive Learning Section

June 7, 2004, Commack, NY—Tamron USA, Inc. announced the re-launch of its website, www.tamron.com, in order to improve the navigation and presentation of information for its visitors. Using updated web technology, the new site loads faster, is simpler to navigate and showcases more images than ever before. Professional and amateur photographers as well as security distributors and installers are the target customers for Tamron's website.

"Like several other companies in the photo industry, Tamron has separate and distinct divisions that are represented in one website," stated Stacie Errera, Chief Marketing Officer. "We had to find a design that unified all three of our product segments, yet maintained a separation between them. I think we accomplished this with the new design by Skylar Design's principal/creative director Justin Agoglia."

The new website is designed to allow easy access to information about Tamron's many products from photo lenses, to surveillance and factory automation optics, to Bronica medium format camera systems. Even more important for many consumers and photo enthusiasts are the learning resources Tamron's site offers. From articles on how to select lenses to tips from the pros, Tamron's learning center will gather all of this essential information in one area. Currently, this section contains useful information about Tamron's products and services. In the near future, Tamron will add a "how-to" section featuring educational articles written by master photographers.

"Users of our photo products are constantly looking for inspiration and information to improve their photography," Errera says. "Our learning center is an important adjunct to our e-mailed and printed newsletters. This area of the site will continue to expand and provide exciting resources for both pros and enthusiasts."

Lisa Keller, Tamron's Internet Supervisor and in-house webmaster, instructed Skylar to enhance the use of images throughout the site. "I felt it was important for a company whose roots are based in photography to showcase the amazing images taken by our users," she stated. In addition to the photo galleries featured in both Tamron lens and Bronica sections, images will rotate on the home page and will be displayed on each page throughout the site.

Tamron's business-to-business customers will also find the new website refreshing. Dealers and distributors of CCTV products, as well as installers and architects, will find that the product spec pages for Tamron's CCTV lenses download faster. PDFs of catalogs and cut sheets are also posted in the CCTV/FA section. More information will be added over time to the learning center and Tamron is investigating the needs of architects and engineers to find out what they would like to see posted in the CCTV/FA optics section.

The new website is scheduled to go live on Monday, June 7, 2004.

Tamron is a leading manufacturer of lenses for photographic, industrial, laboratory, video, digital and scientific applications.
