TAMRON ANNOUNCES WINNERS OF “LIFE CELEBRATIONS” PHOTO CONTEST 2005
Animal Theme Contest Announced for 2006 with Deadline of October 31, 2006
Commack, NY, November 8, 2005 --The winner of the Tamron “Life Celebrations” 2005 photo contest is Sherry Hamilton of Rome, GA. Her stunning image of silhouetted father and child captured the theme perfectly. Sherry’s image was shot using the Tamron AF28-300mm F/3.5-6.3 XR Aspherical LD IF Macro and a film camera. Tamron received almost 500 submissions from Tamron users across the country. The contest was promoted to recently registered users of the company’s flagship Megazoom lenses, 28-300mm and 18-200mm, through a printed newsletter mailed three times per year. “We were pleased with the great enthusiasm our newsletter readers showed in both the number of entries we received and in the wonderful images they selected to share with us,” stated Stacie Errera, Chief Marketing Officer of Tamron USA, Inc. “We received so many poignant and fun photographs that we actually decided to award 15 others with an honorable mention.” Ms. Hamilton received a Tamron AF18-200mm F/3.5-6.3 XR Di-II LD Aspherical IF Macro. The 2005 winning image and the 15 honorable mentions can be viewed on line at www.tamron.com. Click on gallery. At the same time, Tamron announced the 2006 photo contest “It's a Wild World.” Tamron is searching for the best domestic or wild animal image from one dedicated Tamron user. The image might be one you capture while you're monkeying around at the zoo or when you're checking out "gnu" additions at your local petting farm or aquarium. The photographer behind the winning image will receive a Tamron AF18-200mm F/3.5-6.3 Di-II LD Aspherical IF Macro. The winning photo must be taken with a Tamron lens and the contest is open to U.S. residents only. A complete list of rules can be found at www.tamron.com About Tamron
