Tamron Expand the Line-Up of Compact Camera Modules
June 18, 2018, Saitama, Japan – Tamron Co., Ltd. (President & CEO: Shiro Ajisaka; Headquarters: Saitama City, Japan), a leading manufacturer of optics for diverse applications, announces the market launch of a new product, Model: MP1110M-VC, a feature enhancement to the Ultra-Compact Camera Module Model: MP1010M-VC, which was introduced in 2016 with an industry-first*1 optical vibration-compensation mechanism.
Tamron, with leadership technologies accumulated in the security market, together with advanced optics design know - hows to implement and manufacture lenses with various outstanding features, released an Ultra-Compact Camera Module, Model: MP1010M-VC, integrating an industry – first*1 optical vibration-compensation feature. The new product, Model: MP1110M -VC, in addition to the highly valued optical vibration-compensation feature of Model: MP1010M -VC and its compact size and light-weight body, incorporates additional advanced features such as motion detection (detection of moving objects), 16X digital zoom, and distortion correction. Compatibility with the existing analog systems is also ensured to support an extensive range of applications.

< Product Highlights of the New Product MP1110M-VC >
1. Motion Detection (Detection of Moving Objects)
In support of strong request from customers, a motion-detection (detection of moving objects) feature is incorporated in the new module. This feature can trigger video capture automatically when a moving object such as the motion of a human body gets detected.
2. 16X Digital Zoom
In addition to an optical 10X zoom, a 16X digital zoom is incorporated to extend image zooming beyond the telephoto limit. A tandem use of these zooms achieves an outstanding 160X zoom, which ensures powerful magnification of small or remote targets.
3. Extensive Correction of Distortions
Barrel and pincushion distortions, caused by distortion aberration of lenses, are electronically corrected. This enables precise reproduction of original object images, restoring distorted lines and circles to normal.
4. Compatible with a Wide Range of Video Signal Formats Including Analog
MP1110M-VC is, in addition to various standard HD video signal formats, compatible with the SD video signal format, which supports analog systems currently in use by customers. Video signal formats supported by the module are compatible with a wide range of general systems and applications.

1. Integration of an Industry-first*1 Optical Vibration-Compensation Mechanism
Images get blurred when captured under vibration. Compensation of image blurs by means of post-processing software is often accompanied by degradation in image quality; the two new camera modules eliminate image blurs by use of Tamron’s proprietary optical vibration-compensation mechanism. This advanced feature eliminates image blurs under vibration and maintains excellent image quality.

2. Compact and Light-Weight Body
Compact and light-weight implementation of the module body including an optical vibration-compensation mechanism (total length: 58.4mm and total weight: app. 77g) ensures reuse of a camera housing unit currently in use, as well as a further saving of the installation space.
3. Compatibility with Full HD
The modules are fully compatible with the 1920 x 1080 Full HD video output format that is an industry-standard in the security market. High-fidelity images supported by the modules can be widely utilized for other general applications as well.
4. High Optical Performance
Tamron has designed and manufactured extensive arrays of lenses to meet market needs including photographic lenses, digital camera lenses/video camera lenses, and IP/CCTV camera lenses. An effective elimination of chromatic aberration and delicate refinement of high image contrast are achieved by fully employing Tamron’s expert technologies, accumulated know-hows, use of proprietary optical designs and low-reflection coating technologies.
