Tamron Announces Formulation of Tamron Environmental Vision 2050
Tamron Co., Ltd.
Tamron Co., Ltd. (President & CEO: Shiro Ajisaka, Headquarters: Saitama City), a manufacturer of optics for diverse applications, announces the formulation of the “Tamron Environmental Vision 2050,” outlining the long-term direction of Tamron’s environmental initiatives toward 2050. Under this vision, we will step up our efforts to build a fulfilling society in which all people can live with vitality, by engaging in activities to achieve three visions: a decarbonized society, a resource recycling society and a society that exists in harmony with nature.
Against the recent backdrop of the Paris Agreement, a new international framework of global warming countermeasures, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by the United Nations, there is a need to build a sustainable society. Further, for the sustainable growth of the Tamron Group, which is operating on a global scale, we consider it necessary to adopt a long-term perspective in our approach to environmental conservation. We will strive to conserve the environment and reduce the environmental impact on resources pertaining to our business such as waste and water, with the aim of achieving an 80% reduction in CO2 emissions by 2050 (compared to 2015).
