Photographer HARUKI’s travel snapshots of Hokkaido with TAMRON’s new 17-50mm F/4 Di III VXD (Model A068)
Enjoy the travel snapshots of Hokkaido by HARUKI with TAMRON 17-50mm F/4 Di III VXD (Model A068).
The first photo: Focal length:17mm Exposure:F4 0.6sec ISO 400 Camera:Sony α7R Ⅴ
This unique zoom lens covers the unlikely ultra-wide 17mm view angle to the standard 50mm view angle with a constant maximum aperture of F4. In addition to the compact size, welcome features include close-focusing ability and stable balance when zooming thanks to the inner zoom mechanism, making the lens truly comfortable when shooting. Since this is an ultra wide-angle zoom lens, I hadn’t expected much in terms of resistance to backlighting but I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Another really convenient feature is the φ67mm filter diameter, which is not only compact, but also standard for other lenses in the series for full-frame mirrorless cameras.
Unfortunately this time I didn’t have an opportunity to try out the lens with portrait photography, which is my main subject, but going by the results of shooting at wide-open aperture in various scenarios, I can infer that it would also be well suited to portrait photography.
From landscape photos where you want to showcase dynamic vistas to portraits with blurred backgrounds and close-focusing shots, this is a “little giant” that lets you capture many scenes with a single lens.
