[Update] Notice Regarding the Use of Tamron 70-180mm F/2.8 Di III VXD (Model A056) with Sony Alpha 7 V

Regarding our previous announcement on January 6, 2026, concerning the compatibility issue where the Tamron 70-180mm F/2.8 Di III VXD (Model A056) for Sony E-mount does not function correctly when used with the Sony Alpha 7 V we are pleased to inform you that a firmware update to resolve this phenomenon is now available.
We sincerely apologize for any significant inconvenience and concern this may have caused.


[Phenomenon to be Resolved]
When the lens is attached to the camera, “F--” will appear and the lens does not work properly.


[Important Notice Regarding the Update Process]
At this time, the firmware update cannot be performed by the user directly.
Therefore, we will handle the update by receiving your lens at your nearest subsidiary or distributor.

We are currently preparing a method for customers to perform future updates via their own camera bodies. However, due to this specific phenomenon where the lens is not recognized by the Sony Alpha 7 V, a camera body other than the Sony Alpha 7 V will likely be required for the update process, even once self-updates become available. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.
