Compatibility issue with use of the 70-180mm F/2.8 Di III VXD (Model A056) and Sony Alpha 7R VI

We have identified an issue when using the Tamron 70-180mm F/2.8 Di III VXD (Model A056) for Sony E-mount with the newly released Sony α7R VI. 
If the lens firmware is not updated to the latest version, the lens may not operate properly (it will not be recognized by the camera).

Before using this lens with the Sony α7R VI, please take a moment to update the lens firmware to the latest version (Ver. 3).

As a general rule, Tamron verifies compatibility with each camera body based on the "latest lens firmware." 
Therefore, we recommend keeping your lens firmware updated to the latest version.

[Important Notice]
Due to the nature of this specific phenomenon where the lens is not recognized by the Sony α7R VI and α7 V,
a camera body other than the α7R VI and α7 V will be required for the update process.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, but please use a different Sony camera body to perform the firmware update.
